We were so excited for Ariel and David’s Old Hollywood wedding, especially after having so much fun at their film noir engagement shoot! They chose the beautiful Marin Art and Garden Center in Ross, CA, which has so many beautiful spots to take photos!
Everything about the day was beautiful, but nothing could hold a candle to the joy of the bride and groom. They couldn’t stop staring at each other! Everyone at the wedding was talking about how perfect Ariel and David are for each other and how you just know they will always be together – and they definitely will be!
The Old Hollywood theme was one of our favorites. It was a perfect fit for Ariel and David, who are both in the film industry. Film reels hung from the ceremony gazebo and decorated the cake table, film strips were presented on the welcome table and cake table, and the cake was straight out of The Great Gatsby (complete with mini Mr. and Mrs. director chairs!). They even used our engagement photos as their guestbook! The photos were printed and laid on a welcome table, and guests were asked to autograph them. They had even printed a movie poster using one of the photos to put on their own red carpet backdrop for guests to take photos on like they were celebrities at a premiere!
This was a very special wedding for us, one we’ve been waiting for since we first met Ariel and David back in 2015 at another wedding. We love spending time with them both, and their wedding was simply stunning. There was another, more personal reason why this wedding will always stand out in our minds. As you may know, we are currently expecting. While finishing up photos with the bride and groom (and right after the photo below), we felt the baby move for the first time – and towards the bride and groom! Looks like someone else wanted to congratulate the happy couple too!

Chelsea and Branden were married surrounded by family and friends in Palo Alto. Since family is important to them, they created a very sweet and intimate wedding that even included their adorable dog, Happy! Since it was a small guest list, everyone felt blessed and special to be there – including us!
Chelsea loves Disney, and Branden loves VW cars (which fits myself and James perfectly!), so we were bound to have a great time with these two! For photo hour, we all traveled to a nearby park for some fun photos with the bridal party and with Branden’s car!
One of our favorite details of their wedding day was their donut cake. It was so beautifully done, and we instantly were gaga over it. After donuts, guests enjoyed an amazing first dance prepared by the couple. It started off as the classic slow dance but quickly turned into a fast paced choreographed hip hop style dance. It was the perfect way to get the guests in the mood to dance!
It was a beautiful day, and we were so blessed to photograph such a beautiful and loving couple. Congratulations, Chelsea and Branden!

We absolutely love seeing couples that make each other laugh. A simple look will send the other one giggling, and it’s not only incredibly sweet to witness, but it also makes for great photos! Megan and Ray were laughing the whole time, and it made the shoot so much fun!
Megan and Ray chose the gorgeous Durst Winery as the backdrop for both their engagement shoot and their fall wedding. Not only was it a great location for photography, but it was a wonderful spot for their kids to hang out with Grandma until they were ready to join us for photos. We love that Megan and Ray chose to include their adorable little ones in their engagement shoot. After all, the wedding will be a big day for the whole family!
We can’t wait until October!
Being a wedding photographer has brought so much to my life, including old friends! Back in high school, I was good friends with Aubrey, but we lost touch when we went to college. Then, earlier this year, I got a message from her – she was engaged! We met for coffee, and it’s as if we never lost touch.
I was so honored to meet Shawn, and I couldn’t help but smile to see him through Aubrey’s eyes. She literally cannot look at him without smiling or laughing!
On their first trip together, they went to Morro Bay and took a drive along Highway 1. That’s when they stumbled upon a small town with a population of 18: Harmony. As they walked around town, they knew right then and there that someday they wanted to get married in the small chapel there.
We loved their laid back and intimate ceremony. It was so personal and fun, and everyone there felt truly special to be one of the few to witness their beautiful wedding. It was the perfect fit for Aubrey and Shawn.
These two are going to have so many adventures together, and we’re so excited to see where they go next!

We couldn’t help but smile as we saw Shelby, Kevin, and little Hudson heading towards us, hand in hand, at Lafayette Reservoir. They were so excited for their engagement shoot, especially Hudson!
Mommy and Daddy laughed when they saw how much Hudson loved having his photo taken (and seeing the photo on the camera’s LCD screen afterwards).
“He’s definitely a natural!” they exclaimed. We totally agree! Since he seemed to love the camera so much, I even offered to let him take a photo of mommy and daddy. I sat on the ground, and he quickly hopped into my lap to look through the camera. He loved it!
It was so cute watching this adorable family. They are so sweet, patient, and caring towards each other. It makes us so happy!
Congratulations to this beautiful family. We can’t wait to capture more of your happily ever after!
We are huge fans of Disney (I don’t even want to think about how much money we’ve given Disneyland over the years!), so when we heard that Kristina and Jirayr wanted to incorporate some Aladdin inspiration to their engagement shoot at St. Vincent School for Boys in San Rafael, we were totally onboard! Kristina emailed me a few days out from the shoot and said that though they knew it was a long shot, they were curious if we happened to have an “Aladdin’s lamp” that they could use in the shoot. I have a few props that were Beauty and the Beast themed, but nothing Aladdin themed. That’s when I walked in the other room to tell James. He very casually replied, “Oh, I have one.” Sure enough, we looked through some old boxes and found the perfect Aladdin’s lamp!
Since they live in Marin County, they suggested St. Vincents as a backdrop, and we are so glad that they did! The site had so many beautiful spots, and the rain cleared earlier in the day to give us perfect conditions.
We are so thrilled for Kristina and Jirayr. They were holding hands everywhere we went, and it’s clear that they love being together. They are so happy to be tying the knot, and we can’t wait until the big day! Congrats, you two!
A flashmob wedding? How cool is that!?! We were ecstatic when we heard Jennifer & Sean’s idea to show up at Cupid’s Span in San Francisco and have a flashmob ceremony. We were literally counting down the days and teasing everyone about a truly unique wedding we had coming up. Well – this was it!
Jennifer and Sean wanted their ceremony to be different and memorable and representative of their home in San Francisco. They fell in love with Cupid’s Span because it was super cute, overlooked the water, and had both the cityscape and the Bay Bridge as backdrops.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the central location to take photos at other landmarks such as the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero. We even secured permission ahead of time to do a photoshoot on a cable car!
The couple continued the party at a local bar right next to their apartment. They share many happy memories there, including a surprise intimate birthday party for Sean. The bar was such a neat venue! To make it even more personal, Jennifer made the cake herself! Her friend made the bouquets too! As night fell, we even managed to sneak over to their apartment roof for a truly magical night photoshoot.
Congratulations, Jennifer & Sean!
And check out their City Hall Ceremony too!
Wedding Cake: By the bride herself!
Flowers: Friend of the bride, Terren Niethamer
Jennifer and Sean love living in San Francisco, so they wanted their wedding to incorporate their favorite areas. So, they decided on a small civil ceremony during the week followed by a fun and unique wedding day with all their friends and family on the weekend! The iconic San Francisco City Hall was the perfect venue for their civil ceremony – and it was on Pi Day!
These two are so cute together. They really complete each other, and it was evident by how happy they were to finally become Mr. and Mrs.!
We can’t wait to see Jennifer and Sean tomorrow for their wedding in San Francisco with family and friends!
And make sure to view their flashmob wedding!
Sheila and Chris woke up to heavy rain the day of their engagement shoot, but even that couldn’t put a damper on the day! The rain cleared just in time for the photoshoot, leaving behind puddles and rain droplets to make a sweet rainy day session.
These two can make each other laugh with just a word or even a look. As photographers, we absolutely love when couples have that. It makes each moment fun and an absolute joy to capture!
We can’t wait until their big day!
